You know those people who always seem to get things right, even when it sounds like a bad idea? I have a friend like that—her name is Sophia.
She's become the punch line to a running joke in our office (Sophia, if you're reading this, I'm sorry honey). The joke goes like this:
Someone will throw out an absolutely insane idea like "a skort" or, even better, "overalls." Naturally I will say, "Who the hell can pull off a pair of overalls?!" If the person is smart, they know the only reasonable answer to that question is "Sophia Bush" because, well, it’s true. I think this is how the knit-poncho fiasco of ’01 got started.
A perfect example: if you told me you were going to be photographed on a black carpet against a black wall with white graphics, a black and white dress would not be the first thing I would tell you to wear. I'd probably say to go for something in color, like this dress. But when I saw this photo of Sophia from the Star Trek premiere, I knew that the 'Sophia Factor' had proven itself yet again.
Bottom line, the girl has style. She takes risks, but more importantly, she owns them. She is not one of those girls who has three stylists and six assistants dressing her for every occasion. She shops, buys what she likes and wears it. I think the key to her chic success is that she has a clear point of view, which in this town is rare. Simply put: she's an amazing girl, an amazing friend, and has some seriously phenomenal personal style.
